Devlog 1: Making a Linux build

This is my first devlog post that is not a version update announcement. This devlog will be kind of short and it will be about my experience of me making a Linux build for this game. So, I wanted to make a Linux build for this game because I know many Linux users will benefit this. I saw a video about making a build for Linux. With the video I watched, it looked very straight forward so I used it to try and make the Linux build for the game. Here is the video in question:

I was able to compile the game to Linux and the files looked normal. However, there was an issue. The only way I have to test it is a virtual machine. When I tested it myself, all I get is the application opens with a blank screen for a couple minutes and then closes out. I tried using their AI support bot but using that lead nowhere as it did not fix the problem at all. For support from Epic games, I have to pay to get that and I am not part of a business. I am just a small indie dev. I had no more options so I was left at a dead end. I was gonna release a Linux build on v0.0.3 but since the Linux build is not working for me, that plan didn't happen. Maybe I am doing everything right and I just don't know it because I don't have an actual Linux computer and I have no testers that uses a Linux desktop OS.

Once I get a Linux tester, then I can release a Linux build for this game.

That is all I have.

I can playtest your game on Linux to see if it works. Also, I’ve made a playtesting request channel in the jam discord and you can DM me there as well
